Jenny joined ESRO in 2011 with research experience spanning criminology and human geography. Her academic background established an interest in Russia and Russian sociology, transnational criminology, the police, and criminal justice in the media, but ultimately Jenny’s passion for research boils down to her love of discovering new things. Her enthusiasm for ESRO in particular stems from the belief that ‘context is everything’: research should not be conducted without considering the importance of everyday life.
Outside of ESRO, Jenny still aspires to the childhood dream of becoming a prima ballerina. She started ballet classes aged three – a courageous attempt to combat her innate clumsiness – and it has played an important part in her life ever since. She spends a great deal of her commuting time buried in a good book (‘NOT chick-lit’, it says here), and stays in shape by running through the streets of London – preferably when the sun is shining…
